Our next exhibition is coming up soon.
„Jungle Street Zoo City“ will take place on Friday, August 10, 2018. The opening takes place at 5pm in the Gallery K42 (Kölner Straße 42, 57072 Siegen).
What’s it about?
An elephant yawns, colorful birds chirp, an antelope takes off in front of a cracking branch – but only a few meters away, because there ends their enclosure. The exhibition „Jungle Street Zoo City“ is about self-realization in the cage, beauty behind bars, a real life in the wrong. Young artists show their own answers to the question of how to have fun in 2018.
With paintings, photos, collages, sculptures, murals and video installations, each of the participants celebrates the defiance, the underground and the small open spaces that are considered lost to those who do not seek enough. For that reason, „Jungle Street Zoo City“ does not just consist of smooth-iron canvases and accurate video footage – bulky garbage, junk and kitsch found on the street are equally present. True to the motto: „One Man’s Trash, Another Man’s Art Exhibition.“
After the opening, the exhibition will be open on Saturdays and Sundays, 11th and 12th August 2018, from 10am to 6pm. It is then open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to 4pm. The exhibition runs until the 23rd of August.
